Many say salvation is obtained by:
Belief, belief, and nothing but belief
So help us God
But, demons believe
More so than most humans
They know exactly who Jesus is
What authority Jesus wields
What Jesus will accomplish through the end of the age
Yet, they have no salvation…
Many say salvation is obtained by:
Reciting a “believer’s prayer”
Dear Jesus, please come into my heart
And be my personal Lord and savior
Amen
But, anyone can repeat a rote
With no meaningfulness at all
How many trees are just as barren
How many trees are just as rotten
As before they read the script
Yet, they’re convinced they are secure…
A denomination says salvation is obtained by:
Ritual immersion in water
If you get dunked, you get saved
If you don’t get dunked, you go to Hell
But, anyone can participate in a ritual
And most people bathe every day
How many dry sinners
Have become wet sinners
And continued on their way
Yet, a thief was saved without baptism…
When the people in Egypt believed God’s word
They responded by doing what they were told
All who put the blood of the lamb on their door post
Were spared the wrath of God
And came out of darkness among His chosen
Afterwards, they received God’s commands
And whomever rebelled could not enter the Promised Land
Every day, they had to follow God’s lead
Every day, they had to obey God’s commands
Every day, they had to persevere on the path
Yet, only the faithful arrived
One way is to think it
One way is to say it
One way is to ritualize it
The way is to believe and obey every word of it
Knowing we are responsible for our walk
And our only security is to remain true to God
