Much of the Bible is written in poetic form. Psalms, Proverbs, and most of Job are written in poetic form. The songs of Moses, Miriam, and Deborah are just a few examples of poems woven into the context of Biblical books. Poetry is used to praise and worship God. Poetry is used to teach and instruct God’s people in a format that is easier to learn and memorize than prose. David, the man after God’s heart, was a musician and poet. Apparently, God is a fan of poetry.
